Physical Activity

There are lots of different types of exercise and we each need to find one that suits us, we enjoy and can stick to. Exercise can make you feel less tired, less stressed and have an increased sense of vitality.

How much exercise should you be doing?

Adults - 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity , 5 times per week.

Children - 60 minutes of moderate intensity activity, 5 times per week.

What is provided locally?

Remember... It's never too late to start exercising. However, if you haven't exercised for a long time, have heart trouble, high blood pressure, bone or joint problems, speak to your doctor first and don't rush it! Build up activity levels slowly!

Country Parks - There are seven country parks across the County Borough offering easy access to the countryside. Visitors can enjoy walks in beautiful woodlands, wander alongside rivers and enjoy cycling on safe biking trails.

Moving More Often - Promoting regular physical activity and movement for older people.

North Wales Outdoor Challenge - Climbing Higher - is to encourage mass participation in sport and physical activity and for people to take part in 5 x 30 minutes of exercise per week 

Urban Walks - A scheme to promote walking across Wrexham.

Volunteers Programme - This is a local programme developed for people who are interested in volunteering in sports groups, schools and clubs.

Walkabout Wrexham - Walkabout Wrexham currently provides the public with 10 weekly health walks in many local communities as well as longer monthly walks for those who have progressed in their level of fitness.
